Composite resin restorations

Composite resin restorations are tooth colored and therefore, restore the tooth in a very pleasing manner with tooth-like structure. Following the placement of a composite resin filling, you may experience some complications such as sensitivity to hot or cold, sensitivity to chewing, or in cases where the filling is very deep and close to the nerve, intermittent pain. composite resin restorations may initially be more sensitive than other filling materials (i.e. amalgams). If the sensitivity and/or pain persists, a tooth with a composite resin restoration may require additional treatment. such additional treatment could include removing the filling and placing a sedative dressing, adjusting the bite and/or in extreme cases, root canal treatment.
